  • SEBI has mandated the use of standardized, validated, and exclusive UPI IDs by SEBI-registered intermediaries for collecting payments from investors. These UPI IDs follow a structured format and are verified for authenticity.
    New @Valid UPI ID Format:
    h**c.mf@valid****
    h**cmf.cha**el.mf@valid****

This ensures the UPI ID is verified and linked to a SEBI-registered intermediary like HDFC Mutual Fund.
Note: Other than above specified Accounts/UPI IDs, the AMC has made available "@valid" UPI IDs for the additional schemes specific Bank Accounts . These Bank Accounts would remain disabled for inward UPI transactions. Their purpose is to make the corresponding bank accounts verifiable on SEBI Check.

  • Investors need to keep following things into consideration:
    1. On the right side of the “@”, the new and exclusive handle “@valid” should be present, followed by the bank name.
    2. On the confirmation screen, the app should show a white thumbs-up icon inside a green triangle.
    3. The QR code generated using the utility will have a white thumbs-up icon inside a green triangle. It will also display the UPI ID just below the QR code.

  • While completing the payment through UPI, once you open the payment request, the newly verified UPI ID for HDFC Mutual Fund, will be displayed within your Payment Service Provider (PSP) app (such as Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, etc.).
This updated and valid format has also been implemented across the UPI Payment mode journey on our investor portal.

  • The daily transaction limit for capital market transactions via UPI is ₹5 lakhs, as approved by SEBI. This is subject to periodic review by National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).

  • SEBI has introduced a tool called “SEBI Check” that allows you to:
Scan a QR code or manually enter the UPI ID
Verify the intermediary’s bank account details (account number and IFSC)
This tool will help ensure that you transact with a verified entity.

  • No disruption to existing SIPs. However, new or renewed SIPs post September 25, 2025 must use the new standardized UPI IDs.
    •    Does the AMC have to actually accept payments through every "@valid" UPI ID?
No. The purpose is that every investor-facing bank account should become verifiable on SEBI Check.
    •    Can offline "@valid" UPI IDs be used?
Yes. Offline "@valid" UPI IDs may also be used for the purpose of NEFT/IMPS Transactions only and are not enabled for the purpose of UPI Transfer with QR Scanner.
    •    Do we have separate "@valid" UPI IDs for every bank account in relation to all applicable Schemes?
Each investor-facing bank account that receives money from individual/ non- institutional investors is linked with its respective "@valid" UPI ID/Bank Account, so that the respective Bank account becomes verifiable on SEBI Check available on the SEBI Website.
    •    Can investors continue to pay through NEFT, RTGS, IMPS, bank transfer or any other mode?
Yes. This clarification does not restrict any payment mode. Investors remain free to use any permitted payment channel. The destination bank accounts have been verifiable on SEBI Check.
