Missed Akshaya Tritiya? It’s Not Too Late to Invest in Gold and Silver Digitally!
Why is Akshaya Tritiya considered auspicious to buy Gold and Silver?
Akshaya Tritiya is an annual spring harvest festival believed to be a time for new beginnings, investments, and starting new endeavours. The word Akshaya Tritiya is derived from Sanskrit: Akshaya means eternal or never-ending and Tritiya means third — to signify the third lunar day of the bright fortnight of the month of Vaisakha. It symbolizes everlasting prosperity and good fortune.
In Hindu mythology, the story of Akshaya Patra is associated with the festival of Akshaya Tritiya. It is believed that the Pandavas received the Akshaya Patra (a divine copper vessel that was an eternal source of food) on this day from Lord Surya, the Sun God. This copper vessel ensured that the Pandavas and Draupadi never faced food scarcity during their 12-year exile in the forest. Irrespective of the amount of food put into the vessel to cook, it would never run out of food as long as the six wanted to eat. The food supply would end only after Draupadi had her fill. This signifies the meaning of the word eternal behind the name of the festival.
Since ancient times, gold and silver have been associated with prosperity and auspiciousness. Hence, many people prefer to buy gold and silver in the form of jewellery, coins, bars, etc. on auspicious days like these.
It is believed that the Sun (associated with Gold in tradition) and the Moon (associated with Silver in tradition) are in a powerful state on this day. A new venture started during this time or any material investments made, such as in precious metals, are believed to bring good luck, prosperity and success.
Rising geopolitical and economic uncertainty have recently boosted demand for Gold & Silver
Currently, geopolitical and global economic uncertainty is particularly high due to:
- The high tariffs imposed by the US on China and vice versa, leading to fears of a slowdown across these large economies, with ripple effects potentially felt across the global economy
- Prolonged conflict between Russia and Ukraine and re-escalation of hostilities between Hamas and Israel
The developments mentioned above have led to increased demand for Gold and Silver, as a politically-neutral safe haven alternative to the US Dollar.
