FAQs
What is a systematic withdrawal advantage plan (SWAP)?
SWAP enables you to withdraw (subject to deduction of tax at source, if any) a fixed sum (Fixed Plan) or a variable amount (Variable Plan) from your mutual fund scheme at periodic intervals (subject to completion of the lock-in period, if any). Suppose you decide to take up a Fixed Plan under the SWAP facility, you should be aware that the withdrawals may take place from the principal amount invested
How does the SWAP calculator work?
The calculator considers the following factors:
- The amount you want to invest
- The amount you want to withdraw
- Expected rate of return in source scheme
- Tenure of withdrawal
Once you enter the details, the calculator will display the total investment, the Future value of investment in the source scheme and withdrawal per month.

Yes, SWAP can be a good option in mutual funds, especially for investors like you who are seeking a regular income stream or to manage their cash flow during retirement. It allows you to receive periodic payouts while potentially benefiting from market returns.
